Mixed Reality Escape Room

Since 2017, PPS students in Namibia have been working with researchers from NUST to develop educational technologies for their school's interactive digital tech library. This year, they have developed a mixed-reality educational escape room with four stations, which will be showcased at the Tech Innovation Bazaar on November 15-17th, 2023.


VR exhibition

Ju/’hoansi San Hunting story is a VR Digital Cultural experience with five different transitioning hunting scenes. This VR representation preserves the San culture for generations to come. In the Hi//ka//kusi dance, players wearing VR headsets join a circle of Ju/'Hoansi non-player character women, catching and throwing !nara melons to celebrate rain and prosperity.


Ovahimba Cultural Game

The Ovahimba Cultural Game, an Augumented Reality (AR) Game for primary learners, essentially to safeguard intangible cultural heritage of the Ovahimba Tribe.


Edu Game

EduGame Namibia is a game development academy that teaches kids how to create their own games as well as exposing them to different departments in gaming which includes, illustrations, animations, coding, narrative designs and graphics designs


Community Broadcast

The games represent Indigenous San cultural narratives. They are developed based on ancient San stories that illustrate the San people, their culture and beliefs. Essentially, the games are an avenue for cultural preservation and heritage.

Smart Payment Solution for parking is Namibia’s homemade solution for open street parking.


Hololens

By working with students and teachers in school contexts, we utilise their imaginations and demands to drive the final steps in overcoming academic, motivational, and social challenges with existing technologies that are used for shared remote work and education. The wellbeing of a digital and remote society will rely upon improved technologies if it is to be sustained in the future.
